The Death and Life of Superman   by Roger Stern

I'm not for one minute going to pretend this is anything serious, and I'm not going to give a serious analysis of it. It is an important installment in the chronicles of the life of Superman, but as a novel it is just one huge piece of fun.

Superman comes up against Doomsday, who kills him. They entomb his body, but he manages some time later to rise again and get his revenge on Doomsday. There are some slightly uncomfortable parallels with the Christ story, but like I said, it's just a bit of fun and not to be taken seriously. Switch your analysis engine off when you read it.
