Cosmonaut Keep by Ken Macleod

Strange, this. The book comes highly recommended by such likes as Iain Banks, the author has had several nominations for the Arthur C. Clarke award, and yet I failed to see anything special. To my mind, the book is most notable for the fact that I had forgotten the plot almost as soon as I finished reading it. Maybe I was distracted at the time and didn't give the book the attention it deserved. If some day I feel guilty about marking it down in this way, I'll go back and re-read it. I probably won't let this experience stop me from getting another one in the series, but until then I can only describe it as forgettable, out of sight and out of mind.
