Captive Universe   by Harry Harrison

One of those stories where a race of people live in an enclosed environment, and find their way out (think Logan's Run). The `universe' is the inside surface of a spinning cylinder (think Rama). The level of detail of the cylindrical world is nothing like Arthur Clarke's example, though.
